KSK Toledo - USA Martial Arts

KSK Affiliate Instructors are those people who do not live in the area, but actively train in our curriculums from a distance, with the goal of teaching and building their own KSK Affiliate Training Groups.  This training is done by attending seminars, hosting seminars, private lessons, visiting our home school in Lansing, MI. to attend camps & classes, and training our curriculums online. These are dedicated people who put the work in, and continue to do so.  

Joshu Phil Markel runs the USA Martial Arts dojo in the Toledo area.  He has over 20 years of experience and holds black belts in Nihon JuJutsu, Judo, and Aikido.

In 2008 he began traveling to Lansing, MI. to train with Guro T. Kent Nelson in at KSK Martial Arts.  At first his training was occasional, but as time has gone by Joshu Phil's trips to KSK's home school have become more of a staple in his training.  It is not uncommon to see him there 2-4 times a month.

In addition to teaching the Japanese martial arts, Joshu Phil also runs a small KSK Affiliate Group, studying our methods of JKD Concepts and FMA / Armas-Kali.

He is kind, tough, and knowledgable, but it is his sense of humor that really draws you in.  Phil Markell is an excellent person to learn from.
